YEREVAN. – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may arrive in Armenia, he may even be moved, or send a delegation; but all these are ethical and psychological matters.

Non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party MP Aragats Akhoyan, who is also vice-chairman of the National Council of Western Armenians, stated the above-said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Akhoyan noted this while reflecting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s invitation to Erdogan to visit Armenia on April 24, 2015; that is, on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

As per the MP, the genocide’s 100th anniversary is a good opportunity for the Armenian nation to increase its voice around the world.

“We need to understand that the problem of Armenian-Turkish relations is a bomb in the pocket of each of us, [and] which needs to be neutralized.

“Numerous analysts and politicians think that the stronger and higher the ‘Turkish wall’ becomes, we [Armenians] will be that much safer. This is not so. The ‘Turkish wall’ should be made transparent and [we] need to enter, [and] take part in the processes occurring behind the wall,” Akhoyan concluded.
