YEREVAN. – The business tycoons of Armenia have even snatched grazing lands. Opposition Armenian National Congress Party member, economist Zoya Tadevosyan stated the above-mentioned at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Animal farming, for example. Overgrazing is observed in the republic. As a result, the weight and milk production of the farmers’ animals are reducing, whereas some meadows are inaccessible for them. The rich have appropriated and put fences around them,” Tadevosyan added.
In response to the query on what prospects can be expected for the growing of plants in Armenia, the economist noted that despite the amount of fruits and vegetables that are exported to Russia, the Armenian consumer will never face a respective deficit.
“[But] the reason is very sad: emigration. The buyers are lessening in the market. Naturally, the economy is suffering from that, but the [Armenian] authorities don’t care about it at all,” Zoya Tadevosyan added.
