YEREVAN. – The 192nd anniversary of Brazil's independence was marked in Yerevan on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by heads of diplomatic missions, Cabinet members, representatives of international organizations and political parties.
In his address to the participants Ambassador Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro thanked for an opportunity to work in Armenia, a country of rich traditions and culture, and especially in a country with many hospitable people.
“I want to reiterate that I am looking forward to opportunities for further cooperation between Brazil and Armenia in areas where the Brazilian development experience can help realization of Armenian government’s plans and aspiration of the Armenian people,” he said.
Ambassador noted that he needs to closely work with friends in Armenia and Brazil, and in particular representatives of the Armenian community in Brazil who are making significant contribution to social and economic development of the country.
Masters of Capoeira, Brazilian marital art that combines elements of dance, acrobatic and music, showed their skills during the reception.
