Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk called not to politicize the issue of captives.

Commenting on APA agency's question about “15-year-old Azerbaijani citizen Javid Mammadov, who was taken hostage by Armenian soldiers”, Kasprzyk noted that from time to time civilians living and working close to the border lose their way and find themselves on the other side of the border, where they are detained.

The personal representative said that he supports the immediate contact of the ICRC with them and their prompt return. According to him, he promotes these steps in his meetings with relevant authorities.

OSCE representative added “this is a humanitarian issue which should not become politicized”.

Earlier Karabakh expressed readiness to hand over 15-year-old teen to Azerbaijan.
