YEREVAN. – The meetings offered to the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group is political pressure on the parties to move forward Karabakh talks, head of Hay Dat office Giro Manoyan said on Wednesday.
Manoyan does not think that during the upcoming meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Paris, the co-chairs will offer a new package for the settlement.
“If it were so, Baku would have made more active moves. Baku's efforts are aimed at withdrawing negotiations from OSCE Minsk Group format, because thanks to this group, mediators realized that the conflict can not be resolved by the transfer of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan,” Manoyan said.
Besides, he added, in case of continuing negotiations within the OSCE, Azerbaijan will try to work on a large agreement, so that settlement could not be a package deal, as envisaged by Madrid principles.
“After the trilateral meeting in Russia, ceasefire violations declined, this indicates that the meetings play a role in this regard,” Manoyan concluded.
