YEREVAN. – Armenia has registered progress in justice system, but United States continue working with the country to achieve better results, U.S. Ambassador John Heffern told reporters during a regional conference on illegal drug trafficking.

This is an important conference embracing a wide range of issues related to Armenia-US cooperation, in particular on judiciary.

The cases of drug confiscation earlier this year showed how international cooperation promotes protection of nations from such crimes and risks. The aim of this event is to deepen cooperation and to improve the fight against such crimes through exchange of experience, Ambassador said.

John Heffern also said that experienced experts, a judge and a prosecuotr, came from U.S. to particiapte in the conference.

The United States have been working with Armenia in different areas of justice system for more than 10 years. In any country, there are a lot of things to be done in this area, the struggle never ends even in U.S., he emphasized
