YEREVAN. – Washington is well informed about the problems of Armenians and Christian minorities in Syria, U.S. Ambassador John Heffern said.
His comment came as reporters recalled that the United States plan airstrikes against the Islamic State militants in Syria that is home to a large Armenian community.
Ambassador said he is responsible for relationship between U.S. and Armenia and does not want to comment on other states and regions. Heffern said he is not an expert on the issue and is not able to answer the question.
The diplomat added that he had discussed the problem of Armenian and Christian minorities of Syria with the Armenian government.
