Spokesman for the NKR Defense Ministry Senor Hasratyan has refuted the information on ceasefire violation by the NKR Defense Army.
“This is misinformation - Nagorno-Karabakh has nothing to do with the incident. One should seek for its cause in interpersonal relations in the Azerbaijani army. It is not ruled out that Azerbaijani soldiers are so scared after the June 17 incident that they regard each move by the opposite side as an attack,” Hasratyan stated.
Azerbaijani media have spread the information that the NKR armed forces allegedly attacked the Azerbaijani troops’ position near Ashagi Abdurrahmanli village in Fizuli region. The Azerbaijani side repulsed the attack. As a result, Armenians incurred losses and had to retreat, the report says. Azerbaijani press claims the Azerbaijani side incurred a loss as well.
On June 18, an Azerbaijani reconnaissance detachment intruded into Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan, killing 4 Armenian soldiers and wounding 4 others. The enemy retreated, leaving one soldier killed and ammunition.
