STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, National Assembly (NA) Deputy Chairman Artur Tovmasyan on Wednesday received French Senate member Philippe Kaltenbach, who also heads the French-Armenian Friendship Group.
Tovmasyan stressed the importance of strengthening the friendly relations and furthering the development of cooperation with French parliamentarians, informed the NKR NA press service.
Subsequently, the French senator met with representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, and public-political and educational sectors of Artsakh.
In his remarks, Senator Kaltenbach recalled that the fight of the people of Artsakh is not for a territory, but rather a fight for freedom, and that their right to self-determination should be respected.
The French parliamentarian also noted the vivid changes in the gaining of the strengthening of democratic values, and highlighted that Azerbaijan can benefit from the NKR’s respective example.
