The people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)) already have made their choice, which has led to independence; these people have even paid a high price for this freedom and independence.
French Senate member Philippe Kaltenbach, who also heads the France-Armenia Friendship Group, stated the aforesaid in the NKR National Assembly, Karabakh-open.info reported.
“And nothing in the world can have doubts about the Artsakh people’s aspiration to build a free and independent country,” the French senator stated.
At the same time, Kaltenbach expressed the hope that the Armenian and the Azerbaijani presidents’ forthcoming meeting—and at the initiative of the French president—will become another opportunity that, “The French president affirm his confidence that the Karabakh conflict must be resolved by solely peaceful means, and based on the precept of the self-determination of a nation.”
Stressing the need for the Karabakh representatives’ participation in the negotiation process, the French parliamentarian also underscored the need for the establishment of peace in the region.
“We all want to distance the risk of war from Artsakh’s border, and this will accelerate the development of this country,” Philippe Kaltenbach concluded.
