Nowadays, when international borders are becoming more and more transparent and intercontinental single economic spaces are formed, it is meaningless to speak about the inconsistencies between different systems.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated the aforesaid during his lecture on Wednesday at Columbia University in the City of New York, USA.
“In the current year, Armenia is going to join the treaty on the founding of the Eurasian Economic Union [EaEU], which will open new prospects for the further development of our economy.
“[But] at the same time, Armenia continues comprehensive cooperation with the European Union. Thanks to the assistance by the European Union and the West, our country has carried out serious reforms. [But] the objective of these reforms is not integration into an organization; first and foremost, we need them.
“We are convinced that by joining the EaEU, Armenia will become a connecting link for the business communities of the countries of this organization and the Western countries.
“We consistently move forward our European bilateral agenda, too,” the Armenian President specifically stated.
