Armenia should oppose the consideration of the Karabakh conflict by any other agency than the OSCE Minsk Group,  Giro Manoyan Director of the Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office,  ARF Dashnaktsutyun Bureau, told NEWS.am, commenting on the proposal to set up a PACE sub-committee on Nagorno-Karabakh.

Each international agency has its powers and responsibility. The OSCE is the coordinator of security issues in the region. Shifting the issue from the OSCE to another agency is unacceptable, Manoyan said. If PACE seeks to have a role in the Karabakh peace process, it can do so within its mandate, raising issues on democracy and rights.

“If PACE has something to say on the matter, let it say and send an observer to NKR elections.  However, trying to raise the issue here will greatly hit the peace process. The impression is Azerbaijan and Turkey aim to hinder the process with this initiative,” he said.
