On June 23, Chairman of Georgian Parliament David Bakradze met NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Brussels.

After the meeting Bakradze participated in the sitting of the North Atlantic Council.

According to Georgian mass media, issues related to Abkhazia and South Ossetia were the focus at the meeting. NATO Secretary General confirmed NATO’s staunch stance on the inviolability of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

According to him, NATO’s stance is very positive towards Georgia. The officials discussed the particular steps to be taken within NATO to put an end to occupation and to protect the principle of Georgia’s territorial integrity.

He said Anders Fogh Rasmussen is likely to visit Tbilisi in November 2010, before the Lisbon Summit.
