YEREVAN. – Armenian Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan had a farewell meeting with Chinese Ambassador Tian Changchun, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Ashotyan thanked the diplomat for the effective cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, and contribution to the development of the Armenian-Chinese educational ties.
In turn, the ambassador reaffirmed China’s willingness to assist in the founding of a Chinese advanced teaching high school in Armenia, and added that the Chinese-language learning center in Armenia can provide assistance to this school.
At the end of the meeting, Armen Ashotyan awarded Ambassador Tian Changchun with the ministry’s Gold Medal, in recognition of his great contribution to the deepening of Armenian-Chinese cooperation in education and science, and to bilateral ties.
The minister also stressed that the Chinese embassy and the ambassador have played a special role in carrying out bilateral educational programs, and expressed the hope that the Chinese diplomat will remain a friend of Armenia and the Armenian nation.
