RA President Serzh Sargsyan left for Stepanakert. According to our reliable sources, the aim of the visit is to inform the Karabakh authorities of the results of Armenian-Russian-Azerbaijani presidential meeting held in Saint Petersburg.

According to the information at our disposal, Russia came forward with new proposal. The Armenian side accepted the proposals, whereas the Azerbaijani President at first agreed to them, but changed his mind later. This is the reason for Aliyev’s refusal to participate in the international economic forum. After returning to Azerbaijan, Aliyev ordered the intrusion of an Azeri reconnaissance detachment into the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. 

The fact that RF President Dmitry Medvedev met with Serzh Sargsyan after Aliyev left for Azerbaijan also testifies that Russia made new proposals, NEWS.am sources say. In fact there is a new document on the negotiating table.

June 17, a Sargsyan-Medvedev-Aliyev meeting took place in Saint Petersburg. After the meeting Aliyev immediately returned to Azerbaijan without participating in the economic forum (though his participation was scheduled).
