Goran Lindblad was appointed a new co-rapporteur on Armenia at the June 24 session of the PACE Monitoring Committee.

In February Lindblad presented a motion for resolution on the involvement of the army in the events of March 2008.

The member of Armenian delegation to PACE Zaruhi Postanjyan who is presently in Strasbourg told NEWS.am that Lindblad is a representative of the European People’s Party. According to her, the co-rapporteur will soon visit Armenia and hold a monitoring in the context of resolution on army’s involvement.

PACE co-rapporteur on Armenia George Colombier’s term of office is expiring, he said at the June 22 session of the PACE Monitoring Committee. Another co- rapporteur on Armenia is John Prescott (UK).
