YEREVAN. – It is very important that Paris initiates the next meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, since a progress in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is impossible without these talks.

Reiner Morell, the German Ambassador to Armenia, stated the aforementioned on Thursday.

In the ambassador’s conviction, the country’s foreign policy is more accountable today.

“And although mutually hostile statements are often heard regarding the Karabakh issue, there is a benefit because the created situation is managed to be maintained for twenty years,” Morel noted.

As per the German diplomat, it is difficult to set up discussions and meetings between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“[But] it’s very important that the decision-makers meet,” Reiner Morell stressed.
