YEREVAN. – France is working to achieve lasting peace in Karabakh, Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud said during event dedicated to the First World War.

“President Hollande offered to host a meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Paris. On the one hand, meeting's goal is to get an idea about the instruments that will generate trust and will make sure that soldiers and citizens would not die. On the other hand, this will give a new momentum to talks based on three main principles: territorial integrity, right of nations to self-determination and non-use of force,” he said.

The meeting in Paris will be attended by two other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“The parties have to decide how the deal will look like. The mediators can help, but cannot decide instead of them,” Ambassador emphasized.

The meeting of presidents in Paris is planned for October 27 in Paris.
