YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday received his Serbian counterpart Tomislav Nikolic who arrived for an official visit to Armenia on Friday evening.

Welcoming the guest, President Sargsyan stressed that Armenian-Serbian friendship has deep roots and history, and this is a good background for deepening and expansion of relations between the states. President expressed hope that the visit of Serbian leader will give a new impetus to promoting of Armenian-Serbia dialogue and bilateral cooperation.

For his part, Tomislav Nikolic said Serbia attaches importance to development of relations with Armenia, describing the level of relations as not satisfactory. President of Serbia assured his country will exert efforts into deepening of Armenian-Serbia ties.
