Head of European People's Party condemned destruction of Armenian church in Syria.

“EPP condemns ISIS terrorist acts against sacred places such as the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Deir ez-Zor, Syria,” Joseph Daul tweeted.

The Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Deir ez-Zor, Syria was destroyed by the ISIS terrorist group on September 21.

The Armenian Church in Deir Zor was built in 1989-1990, and consecrated a year later. A genocide memorial and a museum housing remains of the victims of the genocide was subsequently constructed in the church compound.
