YEREVAN. – On Friday in Minsk, Armenia’s sovereignty was left hostage to a shady organization. Political analyst Stiopa Safaryan, who is also a member of the opposition “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” faction at the capital city Yerevan Council, stated the above-said at a press conference on Saturday, commenting on the signing of Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) accession treaty.
“None of the leaders of this club is friendly, [and] caring toward Armenia’s interests. In the near future, we will see how Azerbaijan will enter the Eurasian Economic Union having received [Nagorno-]Karabakh,” Safaryan stated, in particular.
The analyst expressed a conviction that October 10 will remain a shameful chapter in Armenian statehood.
“This means that Armenia’s incumbent authorities, former presidents can give Armenia to slavery without blinking an eye, [and] put an end to the independence, something that is priceless and which we have achieved with great difficulty,” Stiopa Safaryan added.
