YEREVAN. – There are facts proving Turkey is ready to invade Syria, first of all to create a buffer zone in norther Syria and secondly to establish zone of influence, Armenian analyst Gevorg Petrosyan told reporters.

Turkey used to lay claims to Syria and Iraq, for example to the city of Mosul that is presently controlled by the Islamic State.

“But we should not assert that Turkey will use ISIS for this purpose, since ISIS cannot be called an entirely Turkish project or a project under control of Turkey. The latter may simply take advantage of the situation created thanks to ISIS actions,” the expert said.
