Within the framework of his visit to Washington D.C., Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Jin-Yong Cai, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Executive Vice President & CEO.
The PM highly praised the IFC’s role in Armenia’s economic development and underscored further cooperation. In his words, during the past fifteen years of collaboration, over $320 million worth of investment projects were carried out in the country.
“Our country has implemented—including with the IFC’s active support—major institutional and regulatory reforms, to improve the business and investment climate [in Armenia],” the Premier specifically noted.
Abrahamyan stressed that the inspection system reforms are one of the key directions of the Armenian government policy, and that the government remains dedicated to its commitments.
Jin-Yong Cai, for his part, highlighted cooperation with Armenia, recorded the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms in the country, and noted that the IFC will continue to assist and carry out programs in Armenia’s several domains and increase the investment portfolio in the real sector of the country’s economy.
The interlocutors also discussed several other cooperation issues.
In the US capital city, PM Hovik Abrahamyan also met with the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) representatives, and they conferred on Armenia’s foreign and domestic policy and economic development.
