In Washington D.C., Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with World Bank (WB) Managing Director and WB Group Chief Financial Officer Bertrand Badré, and WB Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Laura Tuck.

Highly appreciating cooperation with the World Bank, the Premier noted that, during the twenty years of collaboration, the WB has played an important role in the implementation of reforms in Armenia.

“Adhering to the agenda of the reforms, we will continue the efforts aimed at raising the competitiveness and developing the economy of the country,” the PM noted.

Abrahamyan expressed confidence that cooperation with the WB should be expanded, and stressed that Armenia’s programs will continue to maintain the highest level of performance in the region.

Underscoring the continuity of collaboration, Badré, for his part, stated: “Armenia is a reliable partner of the World Bank, and we are pleased to continue cooperation to carry out long-term projects.”

Giving an excellent assessment to Armenia’s performance, Tuck, in turn, stressed: “The World Bank will continue to support Armenia and help propel the reforms.”

The interlocutors also discussed several other matters of mutual importance.
