Azerbaijan consistently continues the arms race and increases its military budget.

According to Azerbaijani media, the country’s 2015 State Budget draft expenditures on defense will constitute 17.9 percent of the total budget spending.

Pursuant to this draft, which the Azerbaijan Ministry of Finance has issued, the state budget expenditures will exceed the 2014 budget spending by 3.1 percent; these expenditures also include funding for special projects and events.

The country’s defense and security agencies’ spending likewise is included in these state budget expenditures.
