YEREVAN. – Within the framework of his visit to Brussels, Artak Zakaryan, who is Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, on Tuesday met with European Parliament Member (MEP) Miloslav Ransdorf (Czech Republic), who is also member of the European Parliament Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.

Zakaryan underscored Armenian-Czech cooperation, especially in waste recycling and solar energy, the aforesaid NA standing committee informed.

The parties reflected on the recent changes along the lines of the Eastern Partnership.

Ransdorf asked about Armenia’s decision to collaborate with both the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU). Zakaryan responded that, under the current geopolitical conditions, Armenia’s decision to join the EaEU was the best decision for the country, since this also will enable to avoid unleashing a new war by Azerbaijan.

At the Czech MEP’s request, Artak Zakaryan also presented the ongoing EU programs in Armenia.
