YEREVAN. – Germany is ready to provide assistance to normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, but Armenia and Turkey are to make decisions.

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier recalled that this year Germany celebrated the 100th anniversary of the First World War, and in this regard remembered the victims of the 1915 massacres of Armenians.

“It is not necessary to be a great scholar to learn lessons of history, I say this in conversations with my Turkish counterparts,,” the Minister said.

He recalled that Germany and France have also experienced a difficult period of history, however, managed to find a way to each other, as they were not silent on the responsibility and did not forget the terrible pages of history.

According to him, everything can not be solved by itself, and the neighbors can help as much as possible. Germany is ready to contribute to normalization of relations, but decisions must be taken in Armenia and Turkey.
