During the awarding ceremony, RA President Serzh Sargsyan stated that the major objective of his new award is to stimulate young people’s interest in information technologies. “We address the youth: future is in the hands of a person with power of thought,” Serzh Sargsyan said. The Armenian leader introduced Craig Barrett as a leading advocate for increase of education level, who always could look ahead and repeated that knowledge is the future.

“It is my vision of modern business. I would like Armenian businessmen to think over this example. I’d like our businessmen to be like this. I am not speaking of charity only, but of responsibility towards society, necessity to abandon short-term and small incomes if we face serious social threats. I am speaking of allurements of big money, of giving up greed and arrogance. I am happy to say that there are such businessmen in Armenia and they are not few. I mean their approach, of course,” he added.
