While on a working visit to Armavir, RA President, Chairman of the Armenian Chess Federation Serzh Sargsyan participated in the opening ceremony of a renovated junior chess school. Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian also attended the ceremony. Aronian stressed the school turned out many talented chess players in the Soviet period, expressing hope it will bring up a generation of chess players. 

The renovation work cost AMD 47m , with AMD 3.7 m. spent on furnishing.

Serzh Sargsyan also visited the renovated medical centre in Armavir. RA Minister of Health Harutyun Kushkyan accompanied the President.
