YEREVAN. – As long as the trio—that is, the three non-government parliamentary forces (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, and Heritage Parties)—does not have legal commitments to each other, each of them will act independently, political technologist Armen Badalyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

He noted that if one of these forces finds that the other’s activities are inhibiting it, nothing prevents it from stating that, from now on, it will be completely alone in conducting its activities.  

Badalyan stressed that this “parliamentary trio” is just associates going along the same road.

“The trio is not a [political] party; criticizing one another can be viewed in a very normal fashion because this is a mere de facto alliance,” the analyst specifically said.

He added that, judging from previous years, it can be concluded that rallies shall never be an end unto itself.    

“You don’t do a change in power with rallies; rallies are a component of the process of regime change. And the matter of a regime change is not determined in Armenia.

“The change in power has its own method: you make investments, [and] you mobilize the society. In this case, the countries, which have an interest toward Armenia, start a quite long negotiation process with you.

“And a long time is needed also to mobilize the society,” Armen Badalyan noted, in particular.
