U.S. is committed to the peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton told a press conference in Baku on Sunday, Trend reported.

Clinton noted progress in the Karabakh peace process, calling on the sides to avoid use of force and comply with the principles of Helsinki Final Act.

“U.S. can not resolve the conflict, but can help bring the parties closer so that they can reach an agreement,” the source quotes Clinton. The Secretary of State also added that U.S. can be partner in talks between the two states.

In the course of her visit to Baku, Hilary Clinton met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and representative of the Azerbaijani youth.

On July 4 she also visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

Today she will visit Yerevan as well.
