July 4, RA President Serzh Sargsyan received U.S. delegation headed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She has arrived in Armenia within the framework of her visit to Eastern European states and the South Caucasus.
The Armenian President expressed confidence that long-expected visit of the Secretary of State to Armenia will contribute to the expansion of Armenian-U.S. relations and deepen atmosphere of trust and confidence in the region.
He congratulated Hillary Clinton on U.S. Independence Day and wished American people peace and prosperity. “I would like to express gratitude to U.S. government and you personally for political, economic and technical assistance to the Republic of Armenia,” he added.
The Secretary of State said it is great honor for her to be in Armenia and she is pleased to be here especially on the day when U.S. marks the Independence Day. She noted that tomorrow is Armenia’s Constitution Day, saying that it is another link between U.S. and Armenia.
