A new stage of Armenians’ islamization has started in Turkey and might loom large, Turkish studies expert Ruben Melkonyan told the journalists today.

According to him, Armenian migrants change religion and the process has two directions. “First- many Armenian women turn to Islam when getting married with Turks,” the expert noted, adding that even Turkish newspapers write about it.

Many Armenians also change religion to succeed in their business. “It is deplorable and we should study it and try to prevent it,” Melkonyan stated. In case we fail to do it, then, in some 20-30 years we will have to study cases, regarding Armenians who forcedly changed their religion in the beginning of 21st century, he emphasized.
