Congressman Frank Pallone, co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues commended Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for visiting Armenian Genocide memorial complex, Asbarez reports.

“The Secretary’s visit to the Genocide memorial was a respectful act and a display of progress in U.S. diplomacy at the highest levels towards recognition of the Armenian Genocide,” the statement reads.

In his statement U.S. Congressman also expressed hope that Clinton’s visit will show a continued commitment to improving relations in the region. “Her recognition of Armenia’s commitment to improved relations with its neighbors and her support for a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in light of recent Azeri attacks is strongly encouraging and appreciated,” he added.
