On July 9, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Swiss Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Peter Maurer.
Nalbandian stressed the Armenia-Switzerland cooperation is developing dynamically and an active political dialogue is underway both in bilateral format and international agencies, RA Foreign Ministry press service informed NEWS.am.
Peter Maurer noted that Switzerland is interested in the expansion of friendly relations with Armenia. The evidence thereof is the establishment of Swiss diplomatic mission in Yerevan.
The officials also discussed the steps towards the development of trade and economic ties and attached significance to the business initiatives and conferences.
RA FM appreciated high the mediatory efforts of Switzerland to normalize Armenia-Turkey relations.
The Ministers also exchanged views on the regional issues and their solutions. In this regard, Edward Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the Karabakh peace process.
Peter Maurer visited the diplomatic school under RA Foreign Ministry in Yerevan and delivered a speech on Switzerland’s foreign policy.
