Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev participated in the opening ceremony of the new office of the Central Electoral Commission on July 12.

The 39-meters-high office building occupies an area of 9,600 meters. It is a modern building with a library and conference hall. The “Elections” information center is located there as well.

The parliamentary elections are to be held in Azerbaijan this November. Opposition political forces are most likely to fail. The only opposition bloc, Azadly, is reportedly facing dissolution. It is impossible for the forces that disagree with Ilham Aliev’s policy to inform the voters of their programs. The Azerbaijani Opposition has no access to mass media. May be the new office building opened by Mr. Aliev will help democratic elections in Azerbaijan.
