YEREVAN. – The Investigation Committee of Armenia continues the investigation into the criminal case that has been filed with respect to Monday’s multiple murder and causing physical injuries in Gyumri city.
Considering that the evidence obtained by the respective investigation gives sufficient grounds that Russian 102nd Military Base soldier Valery Permyakov had committed this crime, a decision was made Wednesday that, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Armenia, Permyakov be included in the aforesaid criminal case as the accused.
The investigation is still in progress.
Six members of the Avetisyan family were shot dead and the six-month-old baby was wounded in their house in Gyumri on Monday. Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the city’s Russian 102nd Military Base, was the main suspect in this crime. Permyakov was later apprehended by the Russian border guards near the Armenian-Turkish border.
