The BRIDGE-ARTSAKH -2010 economic forum inaugurated the building of business bridges between the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) and South Ossetia and Abzhazia, said Maria Dzigoeva, Chairwoman of the South Ossetian Union of Businessmen.

“The forum was organized under the auspices of Nagorno-Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan. The topic of the plenary meeting was the Government-Private Sector Partnership: basis for sustainable economic development. “As a representative of South Ossetia, I am now getting acquainted with the format of the forum, businessmen as well as with the unrecognized country’s economic development,” Dzigoeva said.

She thinks such forums can help Nagorno-Karabakh and South Ossetian businessmen establish closer ties and visit operating enterprises. The participants took special interest in the ARTSAKH–EXPO-2010 exhibition.

A wide range of agricultural products was displayed at the exhibition. The participants familiarized themselves with the types of production successfully developing in the country. A number of jewelry enterprises are operating in Stepanakert. The mining industry is successfully operating as well. Nagorno-Karabakh satisfies its own needs for grain, grapes and other agricultural products. The country can even export the surplus, Dzigoeva said. Her mission is to bring the spirit and ideas of the forum to the South Ossetian public and businessmen.
