An online petition was launched by Armenians demanding dismissal of the president of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan and his deputy Levon Manukyan.

The organizers of signature campaign mentioned that the Union is carrying out ant-national policy instead of promoting Armenian traditions and culture. It is noted that the Union did no critical statements regarding Russia's refusal to hand over Valery Permyakov, who is accused of killing a six member family in Gyumri, to the Armenian law enforcement agencies.

“We are calling on all Armenians and Armenian organizations concerned about the future of the nation to promote the issue of resignation of Ara Abrahamyan and Levon Mukanyan,” the text of petition says.
