In the July 13 interview with the journalists, German director of Turkish origin Fatih Akin said Yerevan is one of eastern points he has ever been to. He has arrived in Armenia to participate in the Golden Apricot International Film Festival.

The director noted at first sight Yerevan is a modest, hospitable and mysterious city and he has great expectations here.

However, Akin complained about the Yerevan heat, admitting yesterday was one of the hottest days in his life. The director said he would spend more time walking around the city than attending the festival.
