We need to think about creating a mechanism to discuss regional issues on a regular basis, with participation by Armenia and Iran.
The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Tedo Japaridze, told the aforesaid to the Russia in Global Politics monthly.
“Armenia is the most isolated country in South Caucasus, and the one which depends the most on Russia. Instead of allowing the growth and spread of conflicts, our countries should develop a South Caucasus strategy,” Japaridze stated.
The Georgian MP also reflected on the avenues for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“It is one of the important challenges for us. May God keep away the resumption of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“[And] what can Georgia do? For example, [it may] propose an area for the [peace] talks and discussions. The leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia can appreciate such a meeting place which does not depend on the Europeans, the Americans, or the Russians,” Tedo Japaridze specifically noted.
