YEREVAN. – Supreme body of ARF Dashnaktsutyun issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the death of a six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan.

“On behalf of our organization, we express condolences and share the pain and sorrow of the Avetisyan family, Gyumri residents and all Armenians. The words of condolences cannot ease the pain and emotions of any of our compatriots, any sober person. At the same time we reconfirm the demands voiced by our representatives: the investigation into the case and the trial must be held in Armenia and in accordance with Armenian laws,” the party said in a statement.

As reported earlier, six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan died on Monday. Other six members of his family were killed last week. Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, stands accused in this crime.

The soldier is charged under Russian law, with “the murder of more than two people,” and “desertion with a service weapon.” The Investigative Committee of Armenia also has launched a criminal case on the murders.
