On July 13, Governor of Ararat Marz Vardges Hovakimyan handed in resignation, a reliable source informed NEWS.am. Assistant to RA Prime Minister Aram Ananyan confirmed the resignation.

The new candidate for the post is Director of the Armenian Rescue Service, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Edik Barseghyan.

The issue will be on the agenda of the governmental session on July 15.
