An Armenian delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimian and First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, on Tuesday attended, in the Dutch capital city of Amsterdam, a European regional conference.

The objective of this event was to discuss the track-records of and lessons from the European countries’ engagement in the UN-led peacekeeping operations, and to explore the avenues for expanding their respective involvement.

Tonoyan addressed the conference on behalf of the Armenian delegation, and reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to ensure international peace and security.

Within the framework of the working visit to the Netherlands, Ashot Hovakimian and Davit Tonoyan also met with the political director at the Dutch MFA, Wim Geerts. The interlocutors conferred on regional security issues, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the recent escalation of tension at the conflict zone, the steps to achieve international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the joint efforts against the threats to international security, and the avenues for addressing the present-day challenges.
