The U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will consider the nomination of Matthew Bryza to the post of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The hearings are scheduled for July 22, Trend reports. The confirmation hearing for Obama’s nominee Francis Ricciardone, to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to Ankara will be held the same day as well. The committee will also consider the nomination of Daniel Bennett Smith to the post of U.S. ambassador to Greece, and nominations of the ambassadors to Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Armenian lobbyists intend to send Ricciardone a number of questions, including the issues on the Armenian Genocide, border opening and the Armenian-Turkish relations.
