However, we can say the former president’s contradictory judgments serve as a screen for the solution of domestic issues. In fact, Ter-Petrosyan tries to mine the political arena in advance, preparing for the impending parliamentary elections, to take an advantage of it in future. Those not understanding Ter-Petrosyan’s contradictory statements, rise to the fly. We think the main purpose of Ter-Petrosyan’s speech is masked not in the light of Armenia-Turkey relations or Karabakh peace process, but in the context of impending domestic political events. The former President with the help of some forces, leaving his slogan “fighting against robbers”, seeks to become the leader of the Armenia’s political arena, including the ruling camp, and a pioneer in the preparation for signing of a peaceful agreement.
