“We want to show that women can combine their efforts and tell the whole world: we are against genocide,” National Assembly Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan, who is also chairperson of the RPA Women’s Council, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
RPA MP Ruzanna Muradyan, for her part, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that especially the women and mothers of the world shall rise up against genocides, since women are the ones who give birth to humanity.
The deputy added that the call entitled “No to Genocide,” and which is addressed to the mothers of the world ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial, will be forwarded to all of the embassies in Armenia.
The RPA women in attendance were mostly dressed in black, and all of them were wearing scarves with a forget-me-not, which symbolizes the genocide centenary.
