YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan took part in Easter Vigil held at St. Sarkis Cathedral on Saturday, as reported to Armenian News – NEWS.am (PHOTOS).  

On April 4 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil) devoted to the commemoration of the burial of Christ. According to the church calendar, a new day starts after the evening service. On the evening of Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil is held, which is followed by the announcement of the Resurrection of Christ and the Paschal greeting “Christ has risen from the dead – Blessed is the resurrection of Christ.” Great Lent ends on the evening of that day.
