YEREVAN. – April 23 is the most important day for the Armenian nation because the canonization ceremony of the Armenian Genocide victims will be held on that day.

Chairman of the organizing committee for the canonization ceremony and Genocide commemoration events, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, told the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, the main respective events will take place between April 22 and 24, and other nations also will participate in them.

Committee member, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, added that there will be a collective canonization ceremony, and a new religious icon, remains, and psalm will be used for this event.

The clerics stressed that this is a key ceremony, since the Armenian Church has not canonized anyone for around 400 years.

To note, the canonization ceremony of the Armenian Genocide victims will be held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
