YEREVAN. – Armenia is interested in the strengthening of Iran's positions in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, expert in Iranian studies Vardan Voskanyan said.

He added that revival of Iran's economy will take time.

Iran and the six powers have agreed on a framework agreement on the nuclear program earlier the month. The parties labeled talks as “historic” and expect to sign a final agreement by the end of June.

On the one hand, lifting of sanctions will lead to positive developments for Armenia, in particular opening of railway and development of energy sector.

“However, after the end of Iran's isolation, Armenia will have a secondary role, since the mentioned projects were important in terms of getting out of isolation,” the expert told reporters on Saturday.

The question is whether Armenia will manage to take advantage of the situation, he added.
